Publications across the country have crashed because private venture capitalists and hedge funds saw journalism as a budget line in a spread sheet and not a social good. At The Saturday Press we see investigative journalism as a median for grass roots advocacy and civic engagement.
We’re here to change history not just document it.
The Saturday Press aspires to empower Twin Cities residents with the information necessary to demand accountability from municipal governments, corporate entities, and community leaders. We believe that dogged, independent local journalism should play a vital role in triggering exonerations protecting civil liberties, checking the influence of money and political power, and moving our society toward a more just world.
